Crypto was hot at the end of 2020. Millions of people were investing in cryptocurrencies. Yet most new users lacked the technical and financial knowledge to make rational decisions on these investments. Without proper tools and understanding of the space, new users were doomed to end up losing money.

ENGEN was tasked with creating user-centered designs by understanding business requirements. We carried out detailed user research by conducting interviews and analysing user feedback. With this data, we proceeded to create advanced user flows along with low and high-fidelity prototypes.
UX STRATEGY
Cryptocurrency and the technology behind it are on the rise around the world. While interest is rapidly growing, many don’t have a clear sense of what blockchain and cryptocurrency actually is – to say nothing of how one can actually participate. Misinformation runs rampant and most of the supporting services like wallets and exchanges are caught up in the stodgy design of finance: establishing trust, but looking ancient. Enter ENGEN STUDIO.
PEOPLE IGNORE DESIGN THAT IGNORES PEOPLE
In the blockchain, onboarding is almost always long and frustrating. Due to the abundance of regulations and identity verification procedures, users sometimes need to download another app to onboard. This leads to dropouts during onboarding. Plus, the registration process is rarely educational and leaves people puzzled about their future actions.
Even in 2022, user-centricity, especially the one that includes a broad audience of users, is not present in the majority of blockchain products. Blockchain apps don’t look and feel like consumer apps, more resembling control panels. We changed this.
APPLICATION FLOW
UI DESIGN
Approaching the go-to-market strategically, our Front-End Designers and Developers began mapping out a simplified UI design to engage prospective consumers naturally. We combined market research with existing customer data to create a hyper-targeted design.
A fluid visual user experience with creative visual solutions.
We defined core components that could be leveraged while creating a UX architecture that is data-driven and has a reusable application core. This framework enabled applications to wrap the application core, yet provide app-specific initialisation, tasks, and UI components.
